True spinal healing requires restoring the lubrication between the vertebrae, not just numbing the nerves.

Going Beyond Painkillers and Muscle Relaxants

Cervical (neck) and Lumbar (lower back) spondylosis are degenerative conditions resulting from wear and tear on the spinal discs. While modern medicine often relies on heavy painkillers, NSAIDs, or eventual surgery, these only mask the symptoms while the degeneration continues. Ayurveda views this as a "Vata Vyadhi"—a condition caused by excessive dryness and degeneration in the bone (Asthi) and nerve tissues (Majja).

Targeted External Therapies: Kati Basti and Greeva Basti

To counteract spinal degeneration, we use highly specific therapies like Kati Basti (for the lower back) and Greeva Basti (for the neck). These involve retaining warm, medicated herbal oils over the affected spinal area. The oils penetrate deeply to lubricate the dried discs, reduce inflammation, and relieve muscle spasms naturally.

Internal Healing and Postural Correction

External therapies are combined with internal herbal decoctions that nourish the nerve tissue and reduce systemic inflammation. Because spondylosis is heavily influenced by lifestyle, we also guide patients through specific ergonomic corrections and therapeutic yoga postures to strengthen the supporting muscles and prevent future flare-ups.
