About Dr. Harikrishna Goka

MD (Ayurveda) · 15 years treating complex chronic conditions

Dr. Harikrishna Goka is a practising Ayurvedic physician whose clinical focus is chronic disease management and surgical alternatives. He holds both a bachelor’s degree (BAMS) and a master’s degree (MD) in Ayurveda, and has treated more than 5,000 patients across conditions ranging from autoimmune disorders to complex women’s health presentations.

His approach combines classical diagnostic method — detailed case-taking and Nadi Pariksha — with modern assessment, including reviewing patients’ existing scans and blood work and using AI-assisted constitutional analysis. The aim is a protocol built for the individual rather than for the diagnosis label.

He is best known among patients for helping them avoid operations they had already been booked for: hysterectomy for fibroids, thyroid nodule removal, knee replacement and fistula surgery. The treatment philosophy is conservative first — medication, diet and lifestyle carry roughly four out of five cases — with Panchakarma and para-surgical procedures reserved for when they are genuinely indicated.

He has also built the digital side of the practice: patients can access their complete records online, track progress between visits, and reach the clinic on WhatsApp between appointments.

What happens in your first consultation

The part that determines everything downstream.

60–90 minutes, not 5

A first consultation covers your full history — when symptoms began, what changed around that time, your digestion, sleep, cycle, stress and prior treatment. Most of what determines the treatment plan comes out of this conversation rather than any test.

Your existing reports are read, not dismissed

Bring your blood work, scans, biopsy reports and current prescriptions. They are reviewed alongside the Ayurvedic assessment. Nobody will tell you to stop your allopathic medication on day one.

Nadi Pariksha and AI Prakriti mapping

Classical pulse diagnosis and clinical examination, supported by AI-assisted face and tongue analysis, to establish your constitution and the current imbalance — the difference between what you were born with and what has gone wrong.

A written plan with a timeline

You leave with the diagnosis explained in plain language, a treatment route, an expected timeline, and a cost estimate. If Ayurveda is not the right primary treatment for your condition, you will be told that too.

Choosing an Ayurvedic doctor — common questions

What qualifications should an Ayurvedic doctor in Hyderabad actually have?

Look for BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) as the minimum, and MD (Ayurveda) for specialist practice — both are recognised medical degrees requiring five and a half and three further years respectively. Dr. Goka holds both, plus specialised training in Panchakarma and Ksharasutra. A therapist or consultant without BAMS is not a doctor, however experienced they are at delivering treatments.

How long is the first consultation and what does it cost?

The first consultation runs 60–90 minutes. A 20-minute introductory consultation is free and carries no commitment — it exists so you can find out whether your condition is treatable this way before paying for anything. Full consultation fees and treatment estimates are given in writing.

Can I continue my allopathic medication during Ayurvedic treatment?

In almost all cases yes, and you should not stop anything on your own. Thyroid medication, antihypertensives, insulin and immunosuppressants are typically continued while Ayurvedic treatment runs alongside. As markers improve, tapering is discussed with you and, where appropriate, with your treating physician — never unilaterally.

Which languages are consultations available in?

English, Hindi and Telugu. For patients outside Hyderabad and overseas, the same doctors consult by video — see our online consultation page for how that works and how medicines are dispatched.

Do you treat patients who have already been advised surgery?

Frequently — it is one of the most common reasons people come to us, particularly for knee replacement, hysterectomy for fibroids, and fistula surgery. Bring the surgical advice and the scans it was based on. We will give you an honest read on whether conservative treatment has a realistic chance, and we will not advise you to delay surgery that you genuinely need.

Where does Dr. Goka consult?

At the AyurCity hospital in Boduppal, East Hyderabad (serving Nacharam, Uppal, Mallapur and Peerzadiguda), and online. AyurCity also operates a Mahbubnagar branch with its own resident physicians.
